Welcome to the website of Tarot Guitars. My name is Dave Hazel. I’m a luthier from Kent Island Maryland with about 35 years experience in high end guitar production.  I’ve made guitars, basses, doublenecks, 7 strings, baritones, 12 strings and more.

 As an employee at PRS Guitars, I was the designer of the inlay on the Dragon 2 model and became the first person selected by Joe Knaggs when he and Paul Smith began the Private Stock department in 96'. I eventually became manager of the Private Stock / Custom Shop construction team as it grew and was heavily involved with almost every single one of the first 3000 PS guitars, as well as countless custom artist guitars run during my 23 years there.

 From rough cut lumber to neck and body construction, routing, fretting, inlay, sanding, staining, artistic design, CAD design and custom CNC work, prototyping, wood selection, inventory, training and management, purchasing and planning, I've spent years handling the process of turning peoples dream guitars into actual physical creations.

 I left PRS in 2012 and set up a small CNC equipped shop of my own to pursue custom guitar building and design as well as other fine woodworking projects such as furniture. I’m currently working with Knaggs Guitars and Rushmore Guitars, GF basses, East Coast Woodworks and Atlantic Woodworks and working on creations of my own under the name Tarot Guitars.
